beautiful! i love how you did the shading on the hair. im trying to get some practice with chibi drawings... but the hair shading is always the most painful for me. i use paint.NET and mouse. do you have any tricks you could share?

Lol I've been putting off answering this comment because I wanted to give you a good answer.

I've never personally never used paint.net but I would suggest trying to play around with creating different textures/looks. Like not on actual hair. But just trying to learn how to make the shapes/effects you need for hair. And then once you have an idea of how to get that effect, I would try it out on a chibi.
I've found that to work pretty good when trying out new coloring styles.

I'll also link you to a couple of tutorials that I've used to try and help me:

(they weren't for the programs I used to learn-but I tried to get the same effects with a different program~)

LOLOL for spending a few days thinking about what to say exactly, I'm not sure I did a great job. XD

UHM
also if you want, I downloaded Paint.net & I could dig out my old mouse and could try to livestream with you to show you how I'd color hair in that program. Keeping in mind that I don't use that program but I could still trryyy.

It'S alright for taking time to answer. <3 Thanks for the awesome answer! Lol, you can try paint.NET + mouse if it amuses you, but please don't waste your time on my account. -hugs- So sweet of you to offer.

I've taken a quick second look at GIMP and it seems to have much more options. So I may give that a try again. =)

Thanks for the links to the tutorials. I had never seen those. I'll def try to experiment a bit after I finish my current piece. -bighugehug-
